In the session on Saturday 17th we will cover the possibilities and the practicalities of 3D printing as a tool to enable art based on data.

3D printers are incredible tools to make tangible objects straight from the virtual world, with minimal mess and with incredible control of the finished output. As with any making process, there are some practical limitations, and so a few internal rules of thumb to bear in mind which will hugely increase your chances of success while experimenting with 3D printing.

Here we can begin, and continue the discussion, answering your questions about using 3D printing in practice within your art. Ask me anything!

Great to see people signed up for Saturday, and Mark tells me several people are interested in using 3D printing.

Would you like to tell us about any specific goals you may have in mind, or just let us know where you are are now with 3D printing and what has interested you?
